For our Movie night, we watched the Murder Mystery movie on Netflix. It was amazing! From the cinematic shots to the epic storyline, it kept me glued to my screen.
The chemistry between Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler was perfect, and the plot twists kept me guessing until the end. I also loved how they managed to incorporate humour into a thriller without destroying its intensity.

Legacy in Music
The von Trapp family’s legacy in music began with Georg von Trapp, who was widowed twice before marrying Maria Augusta Kutschera. Maria became a stepmother to seven children from Georg’s previous marriages. Together with her husband and stepchildren, she formed what would become known as the von Trapp Family Singers. Their performances featured a mix of sacred and secular pieces that showcased each child’s talents.
As performers, the von Trapps were noted for their impeccable harmonies and unique arrangements. Their repertoire included Austrian folk songs, classical pieces, and even some American jazz standards. They toured extensively throughout Austria before fleeing to America following the Anschluss in 1938.
Unique Personalities
Each of the von Trapp children had a unique personality that contributed to their success as performers. From eldest daughter Agathe to youngest son Johannes, each child had something special to bring to the table.
Agathe was known for her beautiful voice and poised stage presence. Her sister Maria was an accomplished guitarist who could also play several other instruments. Rosmarie was often regarded as the most outgoing of the siblings, while Eleonore was known for her gentle disposition.

Johannes was just five years old when he began performing with his siblings on stage. He quickly won over audiences with his charm and talent as a singer and dancer. Martina had a beautiful voice that blended perfectly with her siblings’ harmonies, while Hedwig possessed a natural talent for playing the accordion.
Life after “The Sound of Music” Film
“The Sound of Music,” which premiered in 1965, brought international fame to both the von Trapp family and its performers. Although based on true events from Maria’s memoirs (and somewhat fictionalized), many aspects portrayed in Hollywood weren’t actually true-to-life.
After “The Sound of Music” film release, life changed drastically for some members of the family. Some pursued further education or careers outside show business; others went on tour again under different names or variations of “von Trapp.” But ultimately it created more opportunities for them all than they could have imagined before being discovered by Hollywood producers!

Hey guys, tonight’s plans are super chill – we’re having a movie night in and the teenager gets to pick the film! It’s always fun seeing what he comes up with, and it’s a great way for us adults to stay hip with what’s popular these days. Personally, I’m hoping for something action-packed or suspenseful, but I’m sure whatever he chooses will be entertaining. We’ve got plenty of snacks and drinks ready to go, so all that’s left is settling in for a cosy evening on the couch. I’m looking forward to it – who knows, maybe we’ll discover some new favourite movies!

These classics had themes all over the place – courage in battle, teamwork in the face of adversity; inspire us to stand up for what we believe is right, champion those weaker than ourselves. The art style managed to capture our attention so well as they juxtaposed well with each other. Both shows still entertain today proving their enduring legacy among old-school cartoon lovers like myself.

I caught a clip on TV where they were talking about the transformation of the actor Brendan Fraser had to go through to play his role in his Oscar winning role as a morbidly obese teacher in the film.

Brendan Fraser ended up taking home the Best Actor award for his performance in the film.Â
This film caused some backlash due to the depiction of obesity. Fraser, who transformed into a 600-pound man for the role by carrying between 50 & 300 extra pounds per scene.

When they first started the process of transforming Fraser for the role, it took around 6 hours to do all the prosthetics, and make-up, but later on it was possible to get him ready in about 4 hours.
All I can say is, I wouldn’t have wanted to be wearing all that!! If you’re curious & want to see the film, it’s available to rent on Prime Video https://amzn.to/3ZPalBsi

The awards are scheduled to be handed out over three hours – but the ceremony runs late most years, often by at least 30 mins.

One thing we do know is that Will Smith won’t be making an appearance, as he has been banned from the event for 10 years.

Let’s hope there are no fights this year, as it’s a unwelcome distraction from the amazing event, but also because they’ve changed the red carpet to a champagne coloured one this year. Imagine the problems there would be of cleaning it if blood got spilt.

Whatever results you’re hoping to witness tonight, I hope you’ll enjoy the Award Ceremony.
