Murder Mystery movie on Netflix.

For our Movie night, we watched the Murder Mystery movie on Netflix. It was amazing! From the cinematic shots to the epic storyline, it kept me glued to my screen.

The chemistry between Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler was perfect, and the plot twists kept me guessing until the end. I also loved how they managed to incorporate humour into a thriller without destroying its intensity.

So, when I heard that there’s a sequel coming up, I couldn’t be more excited. This due to be released on 31st March, not long to wait! One can only hope that it will be as gripping and exciting as its predecessor. In short, if you haven’t seen Murder Mystery yet, do yourself a favour and watch it before the new one comes out!

The von Trapp Family Children

The von Trapp family is a household name when it comes to music and entertainment. The family’s story has been shared with the world through various media, most notably the movie “The Sound of Music.” The von Trapp children were an integral part of the family’s legacy, and their unique personalities contributed to their success as a singing group. In this article, we will explore the lives of each child, their experiences after “The Sound of Music” film, and their lasting impact on pop culture.

Legacy in Music

The von Trapp family’s legacy in music began with Georg von Trapp, who was widowed twice before marrying Maria Augusta Kutschera. Maria became a stepmother to seven children from Georg’s previous marriages. Together with her husband and stepchildren, she formed what would become known as the von Trapp Family Singers. Their performances featured a mix of sacred and secular pieces that showcased each child’s talents.

As performers, the von Trapps were noted for their impeccable harmonies and unique arrangements. Their repertoire included Austrian folk songs, classical pieces, and even some American jazz standards. They toured extensively throughout Austria before fleeing to America following the Anschluss in 1938.

Unique Personalities

Each of the von Trapp children had a unique personality that contributed to their success as performers. From eldest daughter Agathe to youngest son Johannes, each child had something special to bring to the table.

Agathe was known for her beautiful voice and poised stage presence. Her sister Maria was an accomplished guitarist who could also play several other instruments. Rosmarie was often regarded as the most outgoing of the siblings, while Eleonore was known for her gentle disposition.

Johannes was just five years old when he began performing with his siblings on stage. He quickly won over audiences with his charm and talent as a singer and dancer. Martina had a beautiful voice that blended perfectly with her siblings’ harmonies, while Hedwig possessed a natural talent for playing the accordion.

Life after “The Sound of Music” Film

“The Sound of Music,” which premiered in 1965, brought international fame to both the von Trapp family and its performers. Although based on true events from Maria’s memoirs (and somewhat fictionalized), many aspects portrayed in Hollywood weren’t actually true-to-life.

After “The Sound of Music” film release, life changed drastically for some members of the family. Some pursued further education or careers outside show business; others went on tour again under different names or variations of “von Trapp.” But ultimately it created more opportunities for them all than they could have imagined before being discovered by Hollywood producers!

Life after The von Trapp Family Singers

By 1957 most members left home but kept performing together under various guises until Georg died in 1947 -at which point they disbanded altogether signed away rights; some continued musical careers independently though few achieved any fame beyond regional recognition until coming back into spotlight thanks largely due again due due …to ‘Sound Of Music’.

Legacy & Impact on Pop Culture

“The Sound of Music” may have been instrumental in bringing international attention to both Austria and its musical traditions thanks largely due again due… well you know this already! And even though much of what occurred during those years featured in movie wasn’t accurate , it inspires people worldwide visit Salzburg region annually where filming took place (for example city tours showcasing famous locations such as Mirabell Gardens etc.).

Later Lives

As they aged into adulthood most retired from showbiz focusing instead education or career paths outside public eye including work charity organizations e.g.; promoting music schools youth programs encouraging young people perform themselves – extension longstanding tradition passed down generations within family itself!

Alison in the GBBO tent.

Hey guys, have you heard the news? The beloved TV personality and cooking enthusiast Alison Hammond is all set to join the Great British Bake Off as a host. Though she isn’t new to hosting shows after her stint on This Morning, this will be her first time joining forces with Strictly Come Dancing’s resident presenter, Matt Lucas, for the cooking competition series. Fans of the show are already looking forward to seeing her bubbly personality and witty remarks add a refreshing touch to the mix this season. Additionally, many speculate that she might even get in on some baking action herself! Suffice it to say; we’re excited to see what kind of energy and warmth she brings when GBBO returns later this year.

What will it be tonight?

Hey guys, tonight’s plans are super chill – we’re having a movie night in and the teenager gets to pick the film! It’s always fun seeing what he comes up with, and it’s a great way for us adults to stay hip with what’s popular these days. Personally, I’m hoping for something action-packed or suspenseful, but I’m sure whatever he chooses will be entertaining. We’ve got plenty of snacks and drinks ready to go, so all that’s left is settling in for a cosy evening on the couch. I’m looking forward to it – who knows, maybe we’ll discover some new favourite movies!

Childhood cartoons

What’s your favorite cartoon?

Ah, He-Man and Dungeons and Dragons – the quintessential childhood cartoons that sent us on wild adventures and fuelled our imaginations! He-Man with his rippling muscles and Prince Adam alter ego, defending Eternia against Skeletor’s evil plans. Who didn’t want to be a hero like him? And then there was Dungeons and Dragons, a show that made us believe we too could journey into an alternate magical realm full of villains and heroic quests. It’s time travel multiplied by infinity!

These classics had themes all over the place – courage in battle, teamwork in the face of adversity; inspire us to stand up for what we believe is right, champion those weaker than ourselves. The art style managed to capture our attention so well as they juxtaposed well with each other. Both shows still entertain today proving their enduring legacy among old-school cartoon lovers like myself.

It’s a Musical.

What movies or TV series have you watched more than 5 times?

It has of course got to be the beautifully produced & well known ‘The Sound of Music’.

The Sound of Music was a masterpiece that showcased the talents of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, who played the roles of Maria and Captain von Trapp, respectively.

The film was set in Austria during the Nazi occupation, and it told the story of a young woman who became a governess to the seven children of a widowed naval captain. Maria’s love for music and her free-spirited nature brought joy and laughter to the von Trapp household, but their happiness was threatened by the looming threat of war.

The Sound of Music was a timeless classic that continues to inspire generations with its message of hope, love, and courage. Its iconic songs, such as “Do-Re-Mi” and “My Favorite Things,” have become part of our cultural heritage, and its story of resilience and triumph over adversity will always resonate with audiences around the world.

The Whale

I caught a clip on TV where they were talking about the transformation of the actor Brendan Fraser had to go through to play his role in his Oscar winning role as a morbidly obese teacher in the film.

Brendan Fraser ended up taking home the Best Actor award for his performance in the film.

This film caused some backlash due to the depiction of obesity. Fraser, who transformed into a 600-pound man for the role by carrying between 50 & 300 extra pounds per scene.

When they first started the process of transforming Fraser for the role, it took around 6 hours to do all the prosthetics, and make-up, but later on it was possible to get him ready in about 4 hours.

All I can say is, I wouldn’t have wanted to be wearing all that!! If you’re curious & want to see the film, it’s available to rent on Prime Video

The link above is an Amazon Aff link, so I may earn a small amount if you make a purchase. Thankyou.

Oscar Worthy.

Ok, so it’s The Oscars tonight!!

In the UK, it will start at midnight just as Sunday becomes Monday. I wonder how many people will be taking a ‘sick day’, or have already booked the day off in advance.

The awards are scheduled to be handed out over three hours – but the ceremony runs late most years, often by at least 30 mins.

Will you be watching, who would you like to see getting a prize?

One thing we do know is that Will Smith won’t be making an appearance, as he has been banned from the event for 10 years.

Rihanna will take to the Academy Awards stage and be performing ‘Lift Me Up’ (from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), which is nominated for best original song.

Lady Gaga is not officially named as performing despite her song Hold My Hand (from Top Gun: Maverick) being the 5th nominee in the category. She is attending the ceremony though, so fans hope she might yet spring a surprise performance.

The top 3 contendents seem to be

Everything Everywhere All At Once, All Quiet on the Western Front, & The Banshees of Inisherin.

British viewers can watch the Oscars on Freeview & Freesat. It will also be available on streaming service Now (formerly Now TV).

Let’s hope there are no fights this year, as it’s a unwelcome distraction from the amazing event, but also because they’ve changed the red carpet to a champagne coloured one this year. Imagine the problems there would be of cleaning it if blood got spilt.

Whatever results you’re hoping to witness tonight, I hope you’ll enjoy the Award Ceremony.

Maggie Smith….

This evening I caught a little hit of Downton Abbey on TV, and thought of two questions I’d love to ask Maggie Smith.

The first question would be, out of all the roles you’ve played in film/on stage etc….. which did you enjoy the most, and why?

The second question would be, which costume (or character’s costumes) did you like wearing the most, and why?

Is there an actor or actress you’d love to ask two questions, if so who, and what would you ask them?
