More than a Lidl impressed.

Today, my family and I couldn’t decide what to eat for lunch. So, I suggested we try out the new Lidl store that just opened up nearby. I usually go to other supermarkets, but they’re farther away and I needed to grab something quickly in between walking my dog and running other errands.

Since I’ve never shopped at Lidl before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But, I have to say, the food was really delicious! I’ll definitely be going back there again. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. They even checked the expiration dates on the food to make sure it would last us a few days.

I didn’t take any pictures, but I did keep the receipt to show you guys what I bought and how affordable it was. We were able to feed four people with what I got, and there’s still plenty left over for lunch or snacks for the next day or two. Overall, I had a great experience at Lidl and I highly recommend it!

Too many bags!?

Advertisements

Well, my dear, I hate to break it to you but you are definitely not alone in the “collection of bags for life” club. In fact, some might argue that it’s practically a rite of passage nowadays. We’ve all been there- scouring the supermarket aisles for the sturdiest and most stylish bag-for-life to add to our ever-growing collection. And who can blame us? Not only are they durable and eco-friendly, but they also make carrying groceries a whole lot easier (trust me on this one). So fear not my friend, proudly tote your plethora of reusable shopping bags with pride- after all, nothing says “adulting” quite like having a designated bag for each day of the week.

IKEA will buy back your old furniture.

Advertisements

Hey, did you know that Ikea has launched an innovative new program where they will actually buy back your old ikea furniture? It’s a win-win situation as not only do you get some money back for your old items, but the company can then refurbish and resell them at a lower price to someone who might not have been able to afford it before. This initiative is part of their wider sustainability drive, which aims to reduce waste and promote circular economy practices. Customers simply need to provide proof of purchase and the condition of the item, with discounts ranging from 30% for pieces in excellent condition to 50% for those showing more wear and tear. Not only is this great news for consumers on a budget looking to refresh their homes but also it demonstrates Ikea’s commitment towards ethical and environmentally-friendly business practices.

If you want to find out more, I have added a link to IKEA’s own information below,

Easter 2023

I am sure you all feel like me, that even the littlest members of the family should be included in special events throughout the year.

Last year my Niece was only a few months old at Easter, so obviously though I wanted her to have a special gift, she couldn’t have a traditional chocolate Easter egg. At first I was unsure what to get her, but then I came across a beautiful personalised bag on Amazon and bought her that. https://amzn.to/3TnjsqN

I knew it would be something that would last beyond easter time, and be treasured. Then I just chose a couple of easter themed books and a cuddly toy to go inside it https://amzn.to/40zwSm7

It was a lovely feeling knowing even at that age, she has a keepsake from her first Easter. Her parents loved it too!!

Teaching kids about money.

Hey, teaching children about the value of money is one of the most important life skills they can learn. It’s not just about saving up for that cool toy or gadget they want; it’s about understanding the bigger picture of how money works in our lives.

Start by giving them small chores and paying them a reasonable amount for their work. Encourage them to save some of their earnings instead of spending it all at once. Talk to them about budgeting and how different things cost different amounts of money.

Consider setting up an allowance system, so they learn to manage their income over time. It’s important to teach kids about the value of hard work and responsibility because these virtues lay a solid foundation for fiscal awareness that will serve them well in adulthood.

Thrilling choices.

Advertisements

Ah, nothing quite beats the thrill of wandering around a garden centre and playing God with the greenery. The feeling of selecting which plant to take home, debating the pros and cons of each one like you’re some wise sage deliberating over life’s biggest decisions – it’s all just too exhilarating for words. And let’s not forget the pure joy that comes from getting lost amongst rows upon rows of thriving flora; it’s like stepping into your very own secret garden (minus Colin Firth, unfortunately). So whether you’re an aspiring botanist or simply someone who appreciates pretty things, there’s no doubt that a garden centre is a sanctuary worth exploring. Just be warned: once you’ve started down this path, there’s no going back. Soon enough your house will look like the Amazon rainforest, but hey – at least it’ll smell great!

Insta-Dri Nail polish.

I don’t often wear nail polish, to be honest I am not brilliant at putting it on, usually I end up smudging it before it has dried.

When I went to the Disabled Citizens Inquiry launch, however, I though I should make the effort. Having had a browse for colours to go with the outfit I was planning to wear, I came across a make I’d not come across before. I did say I don’t wear it often! This looked a gorgeous colour and claimed to dry really quickly – less chance of me managing to smudge it I thought, and the price was good too, so I decided to buy it and see what it was like.

Well, it was so easy to apply, some nail varnishes are incredibly runny, whilst others can be thick and awkward to put on. This glided on with ease, dried really quickly and lastedt ages without marking or starting to look tatty. Definitely on my list of future purchases, there are loads of other colours I want to try!!

  • Formulated with a base and top coat
  • Quick drying in just 60 seconds
  • Up to 33 Percent longer hold, with chip protection
  • Streak-free application, the brush contours for a smooth finish
  • 1 Stroke-1 Coat-Done

If you fancy trying it too, have a look on here where there’s loads of different colours to choose from. https://amzn.to/3Jp5XlK

Eye-catching

I am talking about all those gorgeous bouquets of flowers you see at the supermarket and in the florist windows, you know the ones.

Well, I am getting totally fed up with the miserable weather we have been having, and need a bit of colour to brighten things up I think, so next time I go shopping I am going to do a bit of self-care and treat myself to a bouquet of purple and pink flowers.

Do you ever do this? I haven’t done this for myself before.

Stamp Happy!!

Hiya,

I thought I’d share this product that I bought a while ago to help me with cleaning my craft stamps. It works so well, and smells gorgeous too. What more can you ask!

Spray it on and wipe the ink off. I love it.
