Disappointed Doggy.

I am currently being summoned by my lovely and commanding canine companion. Despite having taken him on two walks today, he is once again demanding my attention. Unfortunately, it is not yet time for his dinner, so he may be disappointed to learn this fact. Furthermore, we will not be embarking on a third walk as the sky is quickly clouding over and becoming darker.

Not all balls are equal.

Trust me on this, I have tried many different balls.

I’ve spent fortunes on finding an acceptable ball of the right weight and consistency.

After trying several different makes, the result is in. The orange and blue chuckit balls win!!! Sadly for me they are also one of the more expensive brands, but they last extremely well so worth it in the long term. https://amzn.to/40c5vhV

Of course, I’m talking about dogs toys. What did you think?!

Cats or Dogs?

Advertisements

There’s an age-old debate that shows no signs of slowing down: cats versus dogs. On one hand, you’ve got your feline overlords, known for their aloof demeanour and razor-sharp claws. On the other is man’s best friend, the canine cohort who’s always ready to play fetch and slobber all over your face. Sure, cats may be content to lounge around the house all day while dogs beg for attention at every turn, but let’s not forget that cats can also be fiercely independent and endlessly entertaining with their playful antics. And while dogs may be more easy-going and affectionate than their purring counterparts, they’ll never quite match the regal charm of a cat lounging on a windowsill or batting at a piece of string with deadly accuracy. Whether you’re Team Cat or Team Dog (or maybe even both), there’s no denying that our furry friends bring joy and companionship into our lives in unique ways.

Myself, I love animals in general, but I am on the dogs side in this one.

Animal lover

What are your favorite animals?

I really am a huge animal lover, but dogs have to be my all time favourite animal.

They are so loyal, understanding, patient and caring. Given the time and care they truly deserve, they’ll pay that back 1000’s of times more over their lifetime.

I don’t believe there is such a thing as a bad dog. A traumatised one, a scared dog, an under exercised and under stimulated dog, and definitely confused ones. But not a dog that’s bad from birth.

It is our responsibility and commitment to care for and look after them, and we need to do the best we can by them. Ensuring they feel safe, loved, secure, comfortable, and healthy.

They really are the perfect companion/friend.

A Blogging Crisis?

… I haven’t been blogging much lately. Every time I sat down at my desk with the intention to write a post, our now nine-month-old Vader laid down at my feet and looked at me with his puppy eyes. Perfect dog owners don’t grow on trees, they are carefully trained by their dogs -and I […]

A Blogging Crisis?

A view from the countryside.

Thought you might like to see pics from part of one of the walks I take the dog on. I do this using my powerchair, obviously not if it’s really wet with puddles etc…, but otherwise the chair manages fine.

As you can see the ground is not bone dry here. Doesn’t it look beautiful.

Obviously if there’s anyone else about I put him straight on a lead, but this track was deserted at the time, and he has good recall so I’m confident that he’ll come straight to me on command.

I’ve told the dog.

I have informed the dog that we will NOT be walking his usual and more favourite walk tomorrow. There’s a good reason for this…..

To be totally bluntly honest, it’s because it STINKS!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love living in the countryside, but what I don’t like is the muck spreading times.

Yes I know it needs to be done to help the farmers grow stuff, but by golly does it smell, and not in a pleasant way.

Don’t worry, the dog will still get a lovely walk…. in the opposite direction.

Pub meal.

Decided on the spur of the moment to go out for a pub meal last night, not something I do very often.

Went to a pub a few miles away, it was a warmish evening and there’s a cycle route for most of the walk, so opted to walk there with the dog while the others went in the car,

Popped the dog in the car whilst we ate, he’d rather do that than stay here on his own while I’m out.

I had a delicious meal of Sweet & Sour Chicken. The others had Hunter’s Chicken, and Haddock and chips. Much chatting about history, geography and politics by the teenager.

Here’s a photo of my yummy meal.

The photo shows my plate of food.

Rubbish bargain.

Today I popped into Wilkos, and spotted some recycling bins for sale. They seemed to sell them in black or green.

I quickly realised that the green bins were greatly reduced in price, in fact I managed to purchase two, at the cost of £3. These bins are 45L bins so will hold a fair amount.

One will go in the kitchen, and the other under my craft desk.

Here’s a link to the Black version, I’m not sure if the green ones are available online, but you can have a look. https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-recycling-bin-45l/p/0502403

I love going to my local Wilko’s store, the staff are all friendly and helpful, the store is accessible, and it is even dog friendly too.
